Bringing us the Syberia series DRM-free.

Warsaw, Poland – March 25, 2010. Syberia, long believed to be a misspelled Russian region that gets rather cold, is actually a hot series of games that is coming to GOG.com – DRM-free for the first time. The agreement with Anuman brings both titles in the series to the classic-games distributor, ensuring that the Benoît Sokal-designed adventures of Kate Walker will live on forever. Syberia is now available at GOG.com for just $9.99, while Syberia 2 will be added in the coming weeks.

The Syberia series has won over fans and critics alike, with GameSpot proclaiming the original as “an adventure-game tour de force, with an engrossing story, a truly imaginative gameworld, and stunning visuals.” The games follow the exploits of Kate Walker, a New York City lawyer who, in the original, is given a potentially simple task of overseeing the sale of a factory in the Alps. As things go, the mission is never quite as basic as it seems, as she uncovers the existence of an heir to the business, and sets off on an adventure across Western Europe and Eastern Russia.

“The Syberia series exemplifies how good and creative adventure games can really be,” said Marcin Iwinski, Co-Founder of CD Projekt and GOG.com. “We believe GOG’s customers will soon realize how addictive the Syberia series is, and we know they’re going to love it!”
