Glu Mobile Launches Virtua Tennis Mobile Edition

Glu serves up SEGA's classic arcade tennis game on Mobile

London - June 13, 2006 - Glu Mobile, a leading creator and global publisher of mobile entertainment, today announced that Virtua Tennis, SEGA's arcade classic tennis game, has launched on mobile phones just in time for the Wimbledon tennis season. Featuring stunning graphics and console-style game play, Virtua Tennis Mobile Edition is the ultimate mobile tennis experience.

"Virtua Tennis is considered by many to be the ultimate arcade tennis game, and we believe the gameplay and graphics of the mobile edition emulate the addictiveness of the original game and make it a perfect fit for the mobile platform," said Kristian Segerstråle, managing director, EMEA, Glu Mobile. "Virtua Tennis Mobile Edition gives tennis fans a way to play wherever they are this summer, and we believe it will follow the success of the console title."

In Virtua Tennis Mobile Edition, players compete across the globe as they try to become the Virtua Tennis World Champion. Players have a choice of up to 20 Virtua players and a series of gruelling worldwide tournaments. Gamers can create their own customised professional players and take them through the intense tennis circuit. The pros participate in competitions to win Virtua cash prizes and use the prize money to buy shirts, racquets and shoes, or even a contract with a doubles partner.

"Virtua Tennis is a classic arcade game franchise," stated Darren Newnham, business development manager, SEGA Europe. "As we've seen through the success of Sonic the Hedgehog, Glu has the proven ability to successfully bring SEGA's original console games to the mobile platform, and we look forward to giving mobile gamers the ability to play Virtua Tennis whenever and wherever they want."

Virtua Tennis is a smash hit tennis game franchise available across several platforms, including Dreamcast, Xbox, PlayStation Portable and now mobile. Virtua Tennis Mobile Edition will be available through all major European network operators beginning in June 2006. For more information, please visit www.glu.com.
