GMCA Entry Comes to a Successful End

The Global Mobile Content Awards 2007 to be held on May 29~30, have wrapped up the online entry with success. The entry deadline, which closed on April 5 counted 147 mobile content from 13 countries worldwide.

Unlike last year where entries were gathered from the recommendations provided by industry experts, this year, entries were collected through open competition. Entries that were submitted were not only from Korea and America but from countries such as Egypt and Malaysia as well. Entry data indicates that the highest proportion of contents came from Korea 64, followed by China 24, America 18 and Japan 17.

The initial screening, which commenced on April 10 will end on April 23. The screening is being conducted by an independent judging panel of 16 global experts who will respectively make their evaluation online so as to ensure a fair judging process. The finalists will be announced on April 25th. Oh, Jichul (the former Vice Minister of Culture & Tourism), the Chairman of the jury committee said, "unlike last year, we were able to receive more outstanding entries since we opened the competition online. Mobile content experts will carefully and closely screen the entries to select the leaders of the next mobile trend"

The winner honoring the most innovative and the hottest trends will be announced at the GMCA ceremony and gala dinner on May 30, 2007 at Sheraton Walkerhil Hotel, Seoul, Korea.

Major Global Mobile Companies to Participate in GMCA Biz-Matching

One of GMCA's main objectives involves creating business opportunities for companies in the mobile arena, thereby providing a grand platform where business deals are discussed and finalized. It is with this objective that the GMCA Biz-Matching, offers an ideal route for participants to plan business meetings, maximizing the value of time with minimal effort.

About 70 mobile related companies as well as content creator, developers, and publishers are expected to be participating this year. And companies like Nokia, Orange, O2, Telefonica, Tencent, T Mobile, Vodafone, 3 Mobile, etc. will be joining 2007 GMCA Biz-Matching as an overseas participants.

Over the Internet, participants can identify other attendees that they desire to meet and submit meeting requests. The Organizing Committee will adjust the schedule and announce the final schedule on the website on May 18. The meeting time will be 30 minutes per 1 meeting.

From this year, on the GMCA 2007 website, a new on-line space called the 'Business Forum Room' will be provided to enhance business communication between buyer companies and participants. At the Business Forum Room, overseas participants can post confidential profiles (strictly protected by the Secretariat) and domestic participants can visit other on-line rooms to express interest in pre-business talks. This cyber room will open during April.

The GMCA Biz-Matching will be arranged on May 30, 2007 at Sheraton Grande Walkerhill, Seoul and participants of Biz-Matching are invited to the invitation-only Awards Ceremony & Gala Dinner of GMCA 2007 on the same day.

World Mobile Content Experts to speak at GMCA Seminar

One day before the GMCA ceremony, May 29, the GMCA Seminar will take place at Sheraton Grande Walkerhill hotel in conjunction with the Seoul Digital Forum (SDF).

The Seminar featured 'Trend of Mobile Content' will provide the opportunity to mobile industry players to expand their knowledge of, and contacts within, the mobile content sector.

Leading industry experts such as Mr. Greame Ferguson, former director of Vodafone Group, Mr. Justin Davis, Edit in Chief of Modojo, Mr. Ke Ding, Vice President of Tencent, Mr. Mark Kirstein, Vice President of iSuppli, etc. will present at the Seminar.

The topics covered will include mobile game, mobile music, mobile TV & video as well as overall trend of mobile contents in 2006 and insight in 2007.

In addition, the global telecom companies from Europe gather and have panel discussion in session at GMCA seminar.
