Exclusive Information on "How to Build a Foreign Game Company in China"

GC Asia Conference (GCAC)

(September 6-7, 2007)

Leipzig, Germany - September 4, 2007 - The Organizers of the GC Asia Conference (GCAC, 6-7 September) today announced an additional keynote to the high-quality conference line-up. In his keynote "Growing a Foreign Company in China", Gilles Langourieux (CEO, Virtous Ltd., China) will provide GCAC attendees with exclusive insights on how he led Virtous to become one of the world's largest outsourced services provider in the games industry. GCAC will take place in Singapore, accompanying the first GC Asia exhibition (September 6-9, 2007).

Gilles Langourieux founded Virtuos in October 2004. He was previously Worldwide Managing Director of ubi.com, Ubisoft's online division, responsible for the group's online strategy and businesses. Growing from revenues of $20 million in 1995 to $600 million today, Ubisoft built its success on a strategy of internal industrial high-quality / low-cost production studios. Gilles played a key role in this strategy by setting up and managing the group's studios in Shanghai and Beijing from 1997 to 2000. He and his team built these studios into the largest in China, with more than 300 employees.

Frank Sliwka, project director of GCAC, explained, "Coming from a different cultural background and having great experience in the game industry, Gilles Langourieux will provide an interesting perspective on the Chinese market. His keynote is a great contribution to the conference's programm, connecting industry specialists from around the globe to share their ideas and strengthen business relations."
