geoSpark

Now even sparkier following 1.1 update.

ST. LOUIS and WASHINGTON - Dec. 22, 2009

Critical Thought Games and Imangi Studios, two of the top independent iPhone development studies, today announced that the first free update to their electrifying collaboration, geoSpark, is available on the App Store.

geoSpark 1.1 brings a slew of improvements to the addictive, fast-paced puzzle game, including:

• Four new Sparks with all new behaviors

• A new Special Spark (the 1UP, which grants players an extra life – very handy!)

• More variety to the way Sparks spawn

• New "longest chain" Leader Board

• OpenFeint Achievements – brag on Facebook and Twitter about your latest conquests!

• A new High Score Leader Board specifically for v1.1

• Several new and improved sound effects

• “Red shift” visual effect as gameplay speeds up

• Slightly modified the Slow Special Spark (slows a % now)

• Some bug fixes

The new changes help to create a smoother difficulty curve for newcomers to the game, while increasing the challenges found in the high score stratosphere. The 1UP Spark provides a chance to keep going even after a clash, and the four new sparks add new twists for players to discover and defeat.

In geoSpark, an assortment of colorful neon ‘Sparks’ fly across the iPhone or iPod Touch screen, and players are tasked with preventing any two different Sparks from colliding. Similar Sparks must be chained together by dragging them across the screen – the more Sparks eliminated in one swipe, the more points awarded.

But as the chain gets longer, a player’s finger become a gravity well, drawing all nearby Sparks inwards and creating some potentially dangerous situations. As players hone their geoSpark skills, they’ll find bonus Sparks with special powers, like multiplying their score or instantly destroying every Spark on the screen. Once they learn the ropes, they can brag about their latest high score on Twitter or Facebook via OpenFeint integration.

geoSpark is available on the App Store for $.99. To download it, visit: http://www.itunes.com/app/geospark
