GarageGames Brings Latest Torque Technology to Game Developers Conference

Bringing top quality game technology to professional developers.

San Jose, CA March 21, 2006 -- GarageGames, the leading publishing label for independent games and professional game makers, is demonstrating new versions of its latest technology at Game Developers Conference (GDC) this week in San Jose.

GarageGames will showcase Legions a technology demo for its Torque Shader Engine (TSE), the technology driving Marble Blast Ultra on Xbox 360 Live! Arcade, Mighty Fist a demo built with Torque Game Builder (TGB), a professional grade 2D engine, and Torque Constructor the CSG level builder created in Torque for level design with all map based games.

"We're excited about bringing our latest technology to show off openly on the floor at GDC," said Mark Frohnmayer, President of GarageGames. "Our goal has always been to create great technology that is accessible to all game developers. This year with TSE on Xbox 360 the opportunities for developers continue to expand."

"Legions felt like a natural way to show off TSE with our expanded Atlas terrain, new water system and advanced materials management system," comments Timothy Aste, Legions producer. "Our goals were simply to capture the imagination of what is possible in creating more compelling environments and game play in our new technology and who knows maybe this demo will go on to be more than just a tech demo."

GarageGames will be showing off this and other Torque technologies at booth #1702 at the Game Developers Conference. Also premiering at GDC is the first book from GG Press, The Game Programmer's Guide to Torque by Edward Maurina III on sale at A K Peters booth #1746.
