GameTap expands Interplay partnership

Expanded deal adds Descent, Fallout and MDK to online game delivery service

GameTap has announced the expansion of its partnership with Interplay that will see more of the publisher's titles made available on the service.

Two months ago, Interplay announced plans to resurrect some of its classic titles for the Wii Virtual Console and that it was also planning new titles in franchises such as Earthworm Jim.

GameTap will now add Fallout, Descent and MDK to its subscription-based play service, ad-supported website and digital download store.

"GameTap continues to be a great partner for Interplay by offering expanded opportunities for revenue after the initial retail window has closed," said Interplay CEO Hervé Caen.

"This licensing deal is a good example of how Interplay is leveraging its library of intellectual properties. The company will continue to either reinvent some of those properties by developing them into new versions or sequels, or by partnering with an existing leader like GameTap, where the original titles can live on."
