GamesIndustry.biz Germany goes live

As the Eurogamer Network expands into Sweden

The German-language version of GamesIndustry.biz has now gone live, offering regional and globally focused content tailored to the German market.

The site is overseen by Christoph Holowaty, who's editorial experience includes founding MCV: The Market for Home Computing and Video Games in 1995 for Computec Media, and launching MCV UK, MCV USA and MCV Online.

"I'm really pleased we've managed to expand the remit for GamesIndustry.biz - Germany is the perfect market for us to launch a regionally-focused site, and I can't wait to see how Christoph evolves the offering over time," said managing editor Phil Elliott.

And Holowaty added: "With GamesIndustry.biz Germany we will build up a business platform which will be unmatched in the country. I'm very proud to build on this platform with a dedicated presence in Germany."

As well as offering market-leading news, features and interviews, the German team will also help grow the GamesIndustry.biz Network as it approaches 30,000 members.

Meanwhile, the Eurogamer Network has also extended its consumer reach with Swedish site PS3bloggen.se becoming Eurogamer Sweden.

Under editor Toby Lee the site has a readership of 10,000 unique weekly readers and helps extend the Eurogamer Network to eleven countries with an audience of more than 4.5 million unique visitors a month, as audited by ABCe.

"In addition to the worldwide stories that we will continue to cover, Eurogamer.se represents a space in which the Swedish gaming community can meet, form clans, discuss and read news and articles that are most relevant to their territory," offered Lee.
