GamesIndustry.biz expands with Japan Edition

Partnership with Japan's 4Gamer.net brings industry content to millions of readers across the country

GamesIndustry.biz is pleased to announce today that we've extended our reach across the globe yet again. Thanks to a partnership with Aetas-owned 4Gamer.net, we've launched GamesIndustry.biz Japan Edition, written entirely in Kanji to complement 4Gamer.net's already sizable audience of 4.7 million monthly unique users. In addition to content being translated into Japanese from this website, 4Gamer's team will be writing localized content about the games industry in Japan.

Furthermore, GamesIndustry.biz has teamed with Silicon Studio Corp., a company specializing in temporary staffing services to the game industry, to extend its already world-class jobs board into the Japanese marketplace. The GamesIndustry.biz Career section of Japan Edition will provide information on different forms of employment, allow users to search information by skill set, and ultimately deliver a top-notch job-matching service.

"With full-time writers in New York, San Francisco, Toronto and the UK, GamesIndustry.biz has been serving the needs of the industry in the West for years. To be fully global, however, expansion into Asia is necessary and I couldn't be happier that we're realizing that effort in Japan, home to industry stalwarts like Sony, Nintendo, Capcom and Square Enix," said James Brightman, Editor in Chief of GamesIndustry.biz.

"Partnering with 4Gamer.net on GamesIndustry.biz Japan Edition is a huge win for us, as we'll be leveraging their massive network to bring our industry perspective, exclusive news and features to a professional audience across the island nation."

Kazuhisa Okada, CEO of Aetas Inc., added, "4Gamer.net began in Japan 16 years ago with a small personal website dealing only with PC games. Since such humble beginnings, 4Gamer.net has grown beyond PC games and now covers more reporting areas including online, console and mobile games. Throughout the years we have been covering news and stories about the games industry and writing player-centric articles in hopes of the development of the industry.

"We also have hoped to create media exclusively for the industry, and the strong partnership with such a well known publication like GamesIndustry.biz, a sister website of Eurogamer.net, and Silicon Studio Corp. is another step forward in realizing this goal. We are indeed honored to launch GamesIndustry.biz Japan Edition today."
