GamesAid opens charity nominations

Members invited to submit suggestions for organisations that should receive industry support

UK videogames industry charity, GamesAid, has announced that nominations for the charities it will support in the coming year are now open.

Members of the organisation are requested to submit the names of charities focused on children or young adults, with a turnover of less than £5 million annually, and with an administration spend of less than 30 per cent (although some exceptions on this last requirement may be made for some smaller or newer charities).

"GamesAid looks to support smaller UK-based charities with a focus on children and young adults," explained chairman Andy Payne. "The due diligence process will short-list suitable charities which can clearly demonstrate how and where the donated funds will be spent, ensuring the money generates the maximum benefit for their particular supported cause."

Nominations may be submitted via the official charity website (turnover figures are available on the Charity Commission website), while anybody wishing to donate to GamesAid may also do that online.
