GamesAid nominations

Members invited to put forward their favourite children's charities.

London, 22nd July 2010 – GamesAid, a UK games industry charity for children and young people, has opened nominations for members to put forward the charities they would like to see supported with funds raised in the coming year.

Members are reminded that nominations should be UK based smaller charities, focussed on children and young adults, with a turnover of no more than £5m annually, with no more than 30% of turnover spent on administration costs. Please note that for some smaller and newer charities, their cost % may be higher, and in these cases the trustees will perform extra due diligence to see if the charity nominated can still be put through to the voting stage.

Nominations can be submitted via the website www.gamesaid.org by logging into the Members Area and following the instructions provided. Turnover figures for charities can be found at www.charity-commission.gov.uk.

Andy Payne, Chairman of GamesAid, said: “GamesAid looks to support smaller UK based charities with a focus on children and young adults. The due diligence process will shortlist suitable charities which can clearly demonstrate how and where the donated funds will be spent, ensuring the money generates the maximum benefit for their particular supported cause.”

All fundraising donations are gratefully received at www.justgiving.com/gamesaid.
