Games Convention Online 2010

Social games to be discussed in Leipzig by Play-dom's Lloyd Melnick.

(8 – 10 July, 2010)

LEIPZIG, June 4, 2010 – The organizers of the GAMES CONVENTION ONLINE today announced that Lloyd Melnick will hold a business talk at this year’s GCO. In his talk entitled “Pivoting to Social Media”, he will discuss the opportunities in the social media space and how developers of MMO, core and casual games can capitalize them. The listeners will understand the revenue opportunities in the social media space and how to move their company to capitalize on these opportunities. The GCO Business Talks are being held in Leipzig from 8 to 10 July, 2010, at the Congress Centre Leipzig (CCL).

Lloyd Melnick is General Manager responsible for European Opera-tions for Playdom, Inc., one of the leading social game companies worldwide. Lloyd is responsible for achieving great international sales for Playdom’s content. His talk will be one of the two talks of the Social Games track.

"GCO is a very important strategic show for Playdom. We are using it as one of the linchpins to our plan to increase significantly the presence of our games in Europe and to find great content for us to publish worldwide”, says Lloyd Melnick, General Manager International Operations of Playdom.

Aside from Playdom, the leading management consultancies in the German-speaking area of the TIME market, Muecke, Sturm & Com-pany will hold a talk in the Social Games business talk track. In the talk “Social Gaming – a trend and a gold mine”, Achim Himmelreich, Manager of MS&C will give insights into the trends of social games based on their latest survey and explain how the industry could benefit from this trend, how money is made with social gaming and which developments are to be expected in the upcoming months.

“When considering the games market, social online games are the most dynamic segment. The GCO is almost the only event where so-cial online games take centre stage”, says Achim Himmelreich, Man-ager of MS&C.

The Business Talks will be held in the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) at the Leipzig Exhibition Centre. This year, trade visitors pay 60 euros a day for the conference, including all Business Talks, or 150 euros for a three-day ticket. Registration for the Business Talks is available on the website www.gamesconvention.com/en/trade-visitors/registration/.

The world's only business and networking platform for browser, client and mobile games will bring together international industry experts to discuss new developments and trends. The GAMES CONVENTION ONLINE provides a specialist business forum with access for trade visitors only. An international exhibition section will inform trade visitors about the industry's latest developments and provides business matching opportunities to facilitate networking and initiate new business. A parallel programme of Business Talks explores the latest trends in the industry.
