GCAP 2008 Announces Venue Details and Call for Papers

Game Developers Association of Australia (GDAA), the organisers of the Games Connect: Asia Pacific (GCAP 08) in Australia, have announced that GCAP 08 will be held in Brisbane, Queensland from 19- 22 November 2008 at the Hilton Hotel Brisbane.

GCAP also wishes to Call for Papers for the 2008 conference and trade display, with speaker submissions being accepted from now until June 6th from international and domestic leading industry members of the games, IT, interactive entertainment, film and sound industries.

The conference will take place in the exciting and vibrant city of Brisbane in Queensland in conjunction with the GCAP Games Trade Display which is the major industry expo in Australia for the trade.

Some of the main topics of GCAP will be online, mobile and casual games, serious games, along with technological developments including latest server technologies. GDAA is also looking for presentations and workshops in the fields of:

• Game Development,

• Writing and Scripting,

• Project Management,

• Serious Games in Defence, Health, Education and Simulation,

• Business Modelling and Marketing,

• Finance and Investment,

• Skills and Recruitment

“The new and game developer and publisher focused GCAP 08 program will address topics and trends of the Asia Pacific game industry," said Greg Bondar, Chairman of GCAP 08 and CEO of the GDAA.
