GAMER.TV GIVES TOP MARKS TO PUBLISHERS

GAMER.TV LAUNCHES NEW ¡°PLATINUM¡± AND ¡°GOLD¡± AWARDS, PROVIDING INSTANT RECOGNITION FOR MILLIONS OF CONSUMERS IN THE UK

London, 6th September 2005: Gamer.tv has just launched two brand new accolades for videogames, recognising titles that achieve ratings of either 5/5 (Platinum award) or 4/5 (Gold award) on the Gamer.tv television programme. Publishers who receive these awards will be provided with a certificate and electronic versions of the award enabling them to be used on advertising and packaging.

With nearly 2 million television viewers in the UK, Gamer.tv reaches a larger and more diverse audience than all of the UK specialist games press combined and this new award scheme is designed to help publishers gain increased consumer recognition for their best titles.

The same high quality review, preview and feature content is also available on demand to Vodafone, 02 and 3 customers in the UK and abroad ¨C and award winning games will get a high profile on mobile phones everywhere.

It takes a truly exceptional game to be awarded Gamer.tv Platinum award. Only games that the show¡¯s review team consider innovative and absolutely crucial to fans of any genre, with a high likelihood of achieving ¡®classic¡¯ status, will receive it.

This stringency ensures that the Gold award will also be a coveted mark of distinction. Gold-awarded games are must-buys ¨C original IPs or sequels that entertain on a grand scale, with high production values and strong content. A Gold award is the equivalent of an 85-91% score in the magazines, and something that the general consumer will clearly identify with.

¡°Our games reviews have achieved a real authority,¡± commented Ian Sharpe, Head of Business Development at TWI/Gamer.tv. ¡°In just two or three minutes, we deliver the essential information and showcase the best footage from a game. Our shows, broadcast on terrestrial, cable and satellite TV around the world as well as being downloadable via broadband and mobile, give games publishers a unique opportunity to put their products in front of new audiences and these new Platinum and Gold awards will provide instant recognition at point of sale for millions of consumers¡±.
