GameCity set for late October, new venue confirmed

Nottingham videogame festival returns for a third year and expands to include Gatecrasher venue

GameCity, the cultural and educational videogame festival, is set to return to Nottingham this year on October 30 – November 1.

And as the event proves more popular, the organisers have announced an expansion to incorporate a new venue – superclub Gatecrasher.

"We're delighted with the support that the festival has gained from the City of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University - its lead partner,” commented Iain Simons, GameCity's festival director.

"It feels like a real milestone on the journey to mainstream culture for interactive entertainment that an event like this can happen at all - and then be embraced by the public sector."

Although further details are still under wraps, the event once again promises game screenings and exclusive appearances following support last year from Katamari Damacy developer Keita Takahashi, SCEE, Travellers Tales, Free Radical Design and Frontier.
