GAME To Offer Safe Collection Of The First PlayStation 3's At 7am Breakfast Launch On Frida 23rd March

GAME Stores Group Ltd, Europe's leading video games retailer, today announced plans for a morning launch of Sony PlayStation®3 at its flagship Oxford Street store, following London's Metropolitan Police concerns over London retailers hosting midnight launches.

Following consultation with the Metropolitan Police and given the high value of the PS3 consoles, GAME, the UK's number one video games retailer has put its customer's safety first and made the decision to open the store at 7am. This will guarantee gamers have access to public transport so they can easily and safely transport their consoles home in daylight.

GAME will be inviting the first 150 gamers who have pre-ordered the PlayStation®3 to the store at 7am on Friday 23rd March. Customers will be greeted with bacon butties, pastries and coffee and will have the chance to claim Sony goodie bags whilst awaiting their turn to collect their PS3. After 9am the store will be open for all GAME customers.

Anna Macario, GAME's Marketing Director, states "The launch of the PS3 is a big deal to our customers. We are managing the launch so it is safe for them, and the only thing they have to concentrate on is securing their new console."

The PlayStation®3 is currently available to pre-order from GAME stores and at www.game.co.uk for £424.99
