Game Connection America @ GDC 2008: A Great Success!

4200 business-focused meetings held in three days

San Francisco, California - February 26, 2008 - The worldwide video game industry has gathered at Game Connection America in San Francisco last week. The business focused event brought together more than 600 industry professionals - developers, publishers, distributors, service providers - who held around 4200 meetings. Several hundreds visitors also took advantage of this opportunity to discover the event. The 5th edition of Game Connection America @ GDC took place on February 19-21, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco during the Game Developers Conference.

The event, organized by Connection Events, the leading video game business event producer in France, has been incredibly busy, gathering hundreds of CEOs, Business Development Managers and decision-makers from 36 countries, including delegations of Japanese , Canadian, French, British and Nordic companies.

This year, 158 exhibitors and more than 120 publishers and outsourcing companies were present at the event, which for the first time was held on three days and included both game and service sellers/buyers simultaneously to maximize business opportunities. First time attendees joined the event including Running with Scissors, developers of Postal, Acquire, creators of Tenchu and MKO Games, specialising in games adapted from movies.

"San Francisco 2008 edition was our first time at the Game Connection. We are extremely happy with the event. We expected to meet main game industry actors and it fully met our expectations. We've loved the online meeting system and we are already planning to participate to the next edition", says Dominique Cor, CEO and Jean-Philippe Lahoussaye-Duvigny, COO, MKO Games.

The pre-planned private meetings took place in the appropriately quiet booth area, and attendees had hundreds of informal discussions during the gourmet lunches and nightly networking cocktails.

Since its American launch in 2004, Game Connection has grown year after year, gaining the trust of top development studios, publishing companies, technology providers and outsourcing companies. Game Connection is the perfect event for video game decision makers who want to develop their business through new and existing contacts in the most effective, efficient way possible, as explains Andrew Luckett, Development Manager for Majesco Entertainment Europe:

"Game Connection is always a great catalyst for Developers and Publishers to do business. Without the medium which E3 used to provide I doubt there is another single event like Game Connection that focuses the development community toward preparing new product pitches."
