Game Audio Australia Now Offering Free Audio Engine

Brisbane, Australia - August 20th, 2007.

Thanks to a new deal with Engine Software in the Netherlands, Game Audio Australia is now able to offer a free audio playback engine for use in upcoming Nintendo® DS and Gameboy TM Advance titles. Engine's Replayer makes the most of handheld audio, and has set the standard in adaptive music technology on Nintendo's handheld platforms. Supporting the very flexible XM music format, Engine's Replayer is capable of playing intricate & adaptive music using only a tiny amount of CPU & RAM, with many advantages over native music formats. The close relationship between Nintendo & Engine spans some twelve years, and has seen their Sound & Music Replayer grow to become the audio engine of choice across many handheld platforms.

"This is great news for us. I've worked on several projects that use Engine's technology, and it really lets me make the most of the soundtrack without getting tangled up with the programming department chasing bugs. It's easy to make a great soundtrack that can adapt to different moods across a game, without blowing the memory budget. The fact we can offer this for free on future projects is fantastic", said Andrew Curnock, Director of Handheld Audio at Game Audio Australia.

Ruud van de Moosdyk, VP of Development at Engine Software adds: "We are happy to have concluded this deal with the leading audio production company Down Under. Besides licensing our technology to game development studios we at Engine have always been trying to support the independent musicians as well, as they form a great asset to our industry. We hope this deal will help Game Audio Australia increase their presence in the market, and that the technology offered will allow their clients to incorporate a higher standard of sound in their games. "
