Future reveals PSM3

Long running independent title becomes UK's first PlayStation 3 magazine

21/07/06 - Future, the UK's leading publisher of video games magazines and websites has unveiled the first PlayStation 3 magazine to hit shelves, PSM3.

On sale Thursday 3rd August, PSM3 is the next generation of the long running independent PlayStation magazine which launched in 2000. The magazine debuts with an exciting and contemporary new look, pushing the visual language of PlayStation 3 games to the forefront - telling the story of the biggest releases and happenings around the eagerly-awaited console.

Focusing predominantly on the forthcoming PlayStation 3, PSM3 also continues to review and feature the very best new PSP and PS2 releases. With its all-new editorial strategy, the magazine will not compete with the internet to deliver the latest gaming news; instead the highly experienced team will carefully handpick material, presenting it creatively and uniquely to readers.

Introducing a wealth of all-new content, the Extended Play section takes readers directly into their games, showing them how to get 100% out of their catalogue of new (and older) titles, it celebrates both the mainstream culture and peculiar idiosyncrasies of PlayStation video gaming, and provides the ideal environment for readers to have their say. The magazine also promises PlayStation retro, online reviews and a monthly celebrity deathmatch - where the "make your own" character feature found in many games really comes to life.

Delivering a first in the PlayStation market, PSM3 features TWO covermounted discs EVERY month. The new look DVD comes packed with all the latest PlayStation 3, PSP and PlayStation 2 video game trailers and footage with the PSM3 team's unique voiceover commentary adding colour to game review videos. The second monthly disc comes packed with PSP game saves, tips for all the biggest games, a massive game review database, loads of wallpapers, and all the best PSP applications and audio files.

Kicking things off in style the relaunch issue of PSM3 comes covermounted with a completely free PSP charger/data cable. This incredible gift, worth £9.99, allows readers to charge their PSP from their computer or laptop via a simple USB connection, while also incorporating a mini-USB adaptor for data transfer. PSM3 remains at its competitive cover price of just £3.99.

The incredible new look is boosted by a huge cover exclusive for the debut issue: the UK's first look at EA's big PS3 shooter, Army of Two - one of the hits from E3.

Dan Griffiths is Editor of PSM3:

"The team put in a huge amount of work to ensure that PSM3 not only improves upon PSM2, but redefines what readers should expect of a next-generation unofficial PlayStation 3 Magazine. The PSM3 editorial agenda remains: to be the most fanatical about games, to bring our readers the biggest exclusives, and to take them closer to the games they're looking forward to. However, with our amazing new look, we've made the magazine more approachable, we've let the incredible visuals of the PS3 speak for themselves, and importantly, we'll continue to celebrate great games long after we've reviewed them."

Matt Pierce is Publisher of PSM3:

"The new look PSM3 is the UK's first ever PlayStation 3 Magazine, and the one that every PlayStation gamer looking forward to PS3 will want to have. Giving readers two discs every single month, a gorgeous new look and feel, and a launch issue that features the most useful and valuable covermounted gift in unofficial PlayStation magazine history, PSM3 sets the standard for every other unofficial PlayStation 3 magazine.

"We needed to ensure that PSM3 was the UK's very first PlayStation 3 magazine, and I'm delighted we've achieved that. Being first to market means PSM3 will be the best established unofficial PS3 title by the time the new console is released in November, and coming off the back of some very exciting recent sales of PSM2, we know there's a loyal army of readers looking forward to it."
