Playable demo now available to test drive for the PS3 and 360, PC version coming out of the garage this afternoon.

Thursday 9th July/... Experience the ground-breaking open-world racer from Asobo Studio as Codemasters® announced that the FUEL™ playable demo will be available today from Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for the Xbox® 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, the PlayStation® Store in Europe for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system with links to the PC demo available on www.fuel-game.com (in the News section) from 2pm GMT.

The FUEL demo enables players to take on the Ocean Rush career event, where 7 racers pick their own paths through treacherous landscapes and short-cuts are key to taking the chequered flag. Gamers can also take on Blitz – a wild, high-pressure challenge where players must race against the clock to reach the next checkpoint before time runs out. Gamers who download the console versions can also play online for a limited period of 2 weeks from release, experiencing up to 16 player free ride in a limited area of the Tsunami Reef zone or challenging up to 6 other players in the Ocean Rush career race.

Celebrating the demo’s arrival, a new video showcases the wheel-to-wheel racing, open landscapes, diverse vehicles and dramatic weather which up to 16 players can enjoy in FUEL’s stunning game world. The video is available from www.fuel-game.com (in the Downloads section).

Recognised by Guinness World Records™ as having ‘The Largest Playable Area in a Console Game’, FUEL features a huge 5,560 square miles playground which is fully open to race and explore. Based on satellite data from the United States, wildly diverse terrain from the snow-capped Mount Rainier to the arid Grand Canyon and everything in between creates an atmospheric, epic racing sandbox.
