According to ChartTrack data confirmed by Nintendo, 4 million of the company's DS handheld systems have been sold in the UK.
In 2007 alone, Nintendo has already sold one million DS handhelds prior to the holiday season.
The DS was launched in North America in November of 2004, and in Europe in March of 2005.
"With its wide appeal and unique software, the Nintendo DS has significantly expanded the gaming audience and driven growth across the whole market," said David Yarnton, general manager of Nintendo UK.
ChartTrack data also shows that Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training has sold over a million units in the UK. The title, known as Brain Age in North America, has sold just under 10 million units worldwide according to Nintendo's September 2007 financial results.
