Today, blockchain gaming startup Forte has announced it has partnered with Ripple's developer ecosystem initiative Xpring to from a $100 million fund to support developers bringing blockchain technology into their games.
Forte was announced last month by Kabam founder Kevin Chou as a platform aiming to increase the speed of blockchain adoption in gaming. This fund will target developers interested in integrating blockchain into their existing live game economies with over 50,000 daily active users.
The platform has partned with money-sending service Ripple and its blockchain infrastructure initiative Xpring both to form the fund as well as to design Forte's platform technology, aiming to lay a foundation for long-term adoption of blockchain.
"We are thrilled to partner with such a world class team of game industry veterans," said Xpring senior VP Ethan Beard. "Both Forte and Ripple have a shared belief that blockchain technology will have a massive impact on games, and that providing tools that are easy-to-use, chain agnostic and interoperable is a necessary step in driving scale consumer adoption."
