Last call for GamesAid nominations

Deadline approaches for UK games industry to choose charities to support

Today is the last day in which to nominate a charity for the UK GamesAid organisation, with the winners due to receive industry support for the next 12 months.

Although members are required to focus on charities which support children or young adults, any can be suggested via the official charity website. The charities GamesAid supports must have an annual turnover of £5 million and an administration spend of less than 30 per cent.

"GamesAid looks to support smaller UK-based charities with a focus on children and young adults," explained chairman Andy Payne.

"The due diligence process will short-list suitable charities which can clearly demonstrate how and where the donated funds will be spent, ensuring the money generates the maximum benefit for their particular supported cause."

Anyone in the UK games industry can become a member of GamesAid and nominate a charity. Direct donations can also be made to GamesAid via the Just Giving charity website.
