Final call for BAFTA New Talent nominations

The deadline for nominations for this year's BAFTA Interactive New Talent Award is this Friday, with time still left to make submissions online for the prestigious award which will be presented at the Edinburgh Festival this August.

The deadline for nominations for this year's BAFTA Interactive New Talent Award is this Friday, with time still left to make submissions online for the prestigious award which will be presented at the Edinburgh Festival this August.

The award was created just last year, and aims to recognise creative innovation, technical excellence and production achievements among the interactive entertainment industry's new talent.

It will be presented this year at the Edinburgh Interactive Entertainment Festival, which takes place in the Scottish capital from August 10th to 14th - and nominations close this Friday, July 1st.

The criteria for entering the award are simple; the nominee must have been working in the interactive entertainment field for less than five years, and must be involved directly in the product development side of the industry.

Award submissions can be found online at the EIEF website or the BAFTA website, and they can be made either by company bosses nominating their staff, or simply by individuals within the industry.

"We are very pleased to be working alongside the EIEF in recognising emerging talent within the video games industry," commented BAFTA Interactive committee chair Grant Dean. "It is essential that individuals gain credit for pushing the technical excellence and creativity within this art form."
