Fight With Skill And Pride In 'Naruto: Ultimate Ninja'

NAMCO BANDAI Games' Blistering New Ninja Fighter Set for European Release on PlayStation 2

LYON, FRANCE - 24 July 2006 - Atari today announced the forthcoming release of deadly action ninja game Naruto: Ultimate Ninja for PlayStation®2 from BANDAI NAMCO Games. Set for release across Europe in November 2006 Naruto: Ultimate Ninja is based on the massively popular and internationally renowned Naruto anime and lays down a serious challenge to other PS2 fighting games with its stylish looks and fiery on-screen battles. Published by NAMCO BANDAI Games and distributed in Europe by Atari, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja for PlayStation 2 is scheduled for European release in November 2006.

Players can select from 14 key characters taken straight from the anime, including Naruto Uzumaki, the young ninja-in-training, and his two ninja-school classmates Sakura and Sasuke. With its opulent visual style and broad range of gameplay modes Naruto: Ultimate Ninja is a game for arcade-fighter and Naruto fans alike. Four gameplay modes - story, mission, free battle and practice - give players a chance to delve into the twisting plots of Naruto, take on the teasing mission tasks, fight 1-on-1 against friends or hone their skills, knowing that a ninja is nothing without practice and discipline.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja is a quality game that shines against the competition with its stylish ninja combat and clever game design. Whilst staying true to its anime roots it takes the 2D fighting genre a step forward with a wealth of brilliant touches which will surprise even the most hardened fighting game fans. What's particularly special about Naruto: Ultimate Ninja is that it remembers games should be fun and delivers many classic moments of sheer gaming joy.

Each combat stage features a foreground and background allowing for tactical in-game switches, and stages are littered with interactive obstacles including broken power lines, power-ups dropped by spectators and a wide range of destructible objects. A host of special moves and unlockable extras awaits players prepared to dig deep into Naruto: Ultimate Ninja, and with the cash earned from victories players can buy even more special treats from the in-game Naruto shop.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja for PlayStation 2 is published by NAMCO BANDAI Games, distributed in Europe by Atari, and scheduled for European release in November 2006.
