Evolve London

Playfish boss Kristian Segerstrale to tell us all about "Social Gaming: After the Revolution" in December.

Kristian Segerstrale, general manager and co-founder of highly acclaimed social gaming company Playfish, will give the opening keynote at the first Evolve in London Conference on Wednesday 8 December.

In his presentation - Social Gaming: After the Revolution - Kristian will provide insight into why the emerging social games market is already at a crossroads. He will share his view on how social games will continue to evolve, what is driving this evolution, and why it's not too late to get a piece of the action.

“Social gaming took the conventional video games industry by surprise," commented Segerstrale. "There was a real gap in the market for ‘connectedness’ and a few companies, like Playfish, managed to reach a whole new audience and create a new type of gamer. But those ‘new’ gamers are now pretty much mainstream. Now, the interesting question is what happens next for social gaming."

Recently acquired by Electronic Arts, Playfish is one of the world’s largest and most respected social gaming companies with more than 250 million games installed and played worldwide on platforms such as Facebook ® , MySpace TM , Google TM , and Bebo. Playfish currently has nearly 60 million monthly active players across its 15 titles – including Facebook hits Pet Society, Restaurant City, and FIFA Superstars – driving more than 1 billion game play sessions every month.

ENDS.
