Eurogamer launches new MMO channel

Brighton, England, March 18th, 2008: Eurogamer.net today announces the launch of its dedicated new MMO channel.

The channel is now live and can be found at https://www.eurogamer.net/mmo/

Eurogamer recently appointed Oli Welsh as MMO editor and the company is putting significant resources into making sure the new MMO channel becomes an essential read for anyone with an interest in this exciting genre. Alongside the channel launch, Eurogamer has teamed up with the developers of massively multiplayer sports game Empire of Sports to offer 2000 pairs of keys to the game's Private Launch phase.

The MMO channel's coverage is designed to reflect the changing nature and long life-spans of virtual worlds. The content, features and communities of massively multiplayer games all evolve over time, changing the experience for players, so major games will be regularly re-reviewed. A series of accessible guides will demystify MMOs for new players. Featured games will be the subject of monthly articles, with some of the UK's best games writers attached to them as regular correspondents.

Eurogamer's MMO editor, Oli Welsh, said, "MMOs are the most dynamic, fastest growing field in gaming right now. The MMO Channel is an exciting opportunity to bring Eurogamer's high editorial standards to dedicated coverage of these virtual worlds".

Eurogamer - Europe's leading independent video games website - recently announced its ABCE audited readership reached 1.83 million unique users for November 2007.
