Eurogamer Expo 2010

HMV secured as sponsor and retail partner.

For Immediate Release

Brighton, England, 9 April 2010. Eurogamer, Europe's leading independent games media specialist, is thrilled to confirm HMV as key sponsor and retail partner or the Eurogamer Expo 2010 and beyond.

This year's Expo will take place from 1st - 3rd October at Earls Court's Brompton Hall and is set to be Britain's biggest videogaming event. HMV's sponsorship confirms the Eurogamer Expo as THE premiere destination for the nation's gamers, giving them the chance to play this year's biggest and best titles before they hit the shops.

The partnership with HMV means that attendees will be able to buy games at the event as well as try them out. With the increase in venue size at Earls Court over 20,000 gamers will now get the opportunity to join in.

"The last two years have been a sell-out smash. With plans for 2010 well underway and talks of 2011 set to begin, we're thrilled to be entering a longer-term partnership with HMV," said Rupert Loman, Managing Director at Eurogamer. "The Eurogamer formula of giving gamers what they want is a winner for consumers and the industry alike - it's about playing great games in a great venue at a great price."

Tim Ellis, Head of Games at HMV, added, "We're delighted to be supporting the Eurogamer Expo once again. It's a fantastic event for HMV and the committed gaming enthusiast."

The objective of the Eurogamer Expo is to put the best games in the hands of gamers. Many publishers have already signed up to exhibit the biggest titles arriving this Christmas and beyond, and the list of games on show will be revealed over the coming months.

The GamesIndustry.biz Career Fair, the UK's premier recruitment event for the games industry, will take place alongside the Expo. The 2010 show will also see the return of last year's hugely popular activities, such as the Developer Sessions and The Indie Arcade, plus a host of exciting new events.
