Eidos clarifies Pivotal redundancies

Between 93 and 95 staff axed, remaining members to stay with Eidos long-term

Eidos has issued a statement to GamesIndustry.biz to clarify the number of staff made redundant at UK developer Pivotal Games.

A maximum of 95 staff are to be axed, while the remaining – between 10 and 12 artists – will stay with the publisher long-term.

"The number of jobs which will be made redundant at Pivotal Games will be between 93 and 95, not the rumoured 99 which has been mentioned by some websites,” said the company.

"With regards to reports of the remaining staff being made redundant after three months, this is absolutely untrue. The retained artists will be considered part of the ongoing team and structure at Eidos."

Eidos confirmed yesterday that Pivotal Games was the latest casualty of the company's wider restructuring initiative, which was announced back in February.
