KWP's Kevin Williams to host session entitled "Arcade Amusements Get Wired".

Monday 21st July/...The Edinburgh Interactive Festival today announced that founder and director of leading amusement and attraction industry company KWP Ltd., Kevin Williams, will be chairing a session entitled “Arcade Amusements Get Wired”, to an audience of games industry luminaries and press at Edinburgh Interactive Festival 2008.

Williams, who will be chairing the session on Monday 11th August at 16.30 - 17.15, will discuss the video amusement and attraction industry and the importance of its development in shaping UK gaming culture.

In his 40 minute presentation, Williams will look at what the Out-of-Home interactive entertainment industry represents to the creative culture of games and interactive entertainment. The illustrated address will focus on three areas: ‘Immersion’ – Looking at how the arcade has originated the fundamental first-person play experience, with the use of technology to pull the player into the game; ‘Physicality’ – Observations on the development of a wide array of innovative interfaces and playing experiences; and ‘Connectivity’ – Discussing the way that amusement has shaped the social gaming arena, and become an inclusive experience able to attract unique audiences such as the female player.

Kevin Williams said: “I am greatly honoured to be given the opportunity to address such a varied and informed audience. I look forward to describing the innovation and variety of my usually secretive industry, and prove the opportunity that ‘unachievable@Home’ gaming can offer.”
