Edinburgh festival gains new friends

Organisers of the Edinburgh Interactive Entertainment Festival have revealed the first batch of companies signed up as an official 'Friend' for the two-day event, which takes place in the heart of Scotland's capital city this August.

The Edinburgh Interactive Entertainment Festival has revealed the first batch of companies to sign up as official 'Friends' of the two-day event, which takes place in the heart of Scotland's capital city this August.

A mutually beneficial relationship, becoming a festival Friend provides industry recognition and support for the EIEF, and also enables Friends to promote their own organisation through branding at the event and in all associated media and web activities.

The 2006 event, scheduled to take place from 21-22 August, will be supported by Harbottle & Lewis, Hyper Entertainment, Indoctrimat, I-play and Mary Margaret.com, all of whom have already signed up to the Friends programme.

Fred Hasson, director of TIGA said: "Becoming a Friend of the Festival is a great way for individuals or smaller organisations to support the interactive industry. They will receive many benefits including branding and delegate passes while helping us to create a truly memorable festival."

During the two day event, delgates will be presented with a series of conferences, panel events and new game screenings, with plenty of opportunity for networking, forming new business relationships and discussing the issues relevant to the interactive industry today. The festival also plays host to the annual Edge Awards and networking party.

Any parties interested in becoming a Friend, learning more about the EIEF06 festival programme, registering for sponsorship or general festival attendance details should visit www.eief.co.uk.
