EA launches new Simpsons title

Out now in US and Europe

Electronic Arts has launched a new mobile phone game based on blockbuster animated TV series The Simpsons.

Titled The Simpsons: Minutes to Meltdown, it has been developed in co-operation with Fox Entertainment and Gracie Films, and is now available in the US and Europe.

Players take on the role of Homer, and must race around Springfield trying to stop a meltdown at the local nuclear power plant. Other characters featured in the game include Bart, Apu and Mr Burns.

"Just as we did with The Simpsons movie, we waited until we had the right product for fans before creating a mobile game," said Denise Sirkot, executive vice president of Gracie Films.

"The fantastic thing about The Simpsons: Minutes to Meltdown is that, in addition to capturing the energy and humor of the series, you can play it anywhere, anytime."
