E3 set to be biggest show in five years as booths sell out in record time

Booths at this year's E3Expo have sold out in the fastest time for five years, according to the Entertainment Software Association (ESA).

To date, more than 540,000 square feet of space spread over five exhibition halls have been bought up. It's the largest amount of space sold since 2000.

"E3Expo 2005 brings us to the threshold of a new era of creative and technological innovation for the global computer and video game business," said ESA president Douglas Lowenstein.

"With a show floor the size of 2,700 city blocks, an unparalleled business conference program and more than 400 exhibitors from 87 countries, E3Expo is truly the best place on the planet to get down to the business of fun," he concluded.

Now in its eleventh year, E3Expo 2005 will take place at the LA Convention Center between May 17-20. More than 30 educational conference sessions and workshops are planned, with 150 industry experts signed up to speak.
