Dynamo Brings The Crystal Maze To Mobile

For Immediate Release:

Dundee, UK, April 23rd 2007. Dynamo Games, one of the UK's top 50 Mobile companies, today announced it is creating a new mobile game based on the cult TV series, The Crystal Maze.

Featuring all of the best loved aspects of the TV game show, The Crystal Maze Mobile will challenge a team of players to complete tasks across Aztec, Medieval, Industrial and Futuristic zones. Each zone offers a variety of challenges, from physical and skill tasks through to mental or mystery puzzles.

The Crystal Maze Mobile will be available from all major networks in Q4 2007.

The Crystal Maze originally ran on television from 1990 - 1995, building up a cult following, which remains to this day. The series is still being shown on digital television channels in the UK. In 2006 The Crystal Maze was voted 'The Best Gameshow Of All Time' by visitors to the website www.ukgameshows.com.

"The Crystal Maze is a perfect format for mobile gaming," says Brian McNicoll, the managing director of Dynamo Games. The show's variety of short tasks, challenges and puzzles, translates very nicely onto mobile phones and the way people play with them."

"We are very excited to be bringing a show with as much heritage, fun and passion as The Crystal Maze to mobile," says McNicoll. "We know the show still has a strong following across the UK, so translating its unique blend of puzzles and trademark humour is something we've relished. Dynamo has a great deal of experience bringing brands to the mobile entertainment market and we're looking forward to introducing The Crystal Maze to a whole new generation."

Malcolm Heyworth, the managing director of Chatsworth TV, agrees. "The Crystal Maze seems tailor made for the mobile entertainment market. Its mix of themed puzzles and games, tied up in an appealing and fun package, has something to offer to everyone, from fans of the original show, to casual gamers and new phone owners. Dynamo has demonstrated in the past that it understands what it takes to make a success of a licensed product and we believe the company is creating something special with The Crystal Maze Mobile.

Dynamo Games is one of Europe's most promising new games studios. The company recently secured a place in the 2007 O2/Real Business '50 To Watch In Mobile Competition. One of only three mobile games companies to do so.

The company is responsible for the hugely successful mobile edition of Eidos's popular Championship Manager series, which has won The Independent Game Developer Association (TIGA) Mobile Game Of The Year award two years in a row.

Championship Manager 2007, the third in the series was recently released on UK operators. In January, Dynamo released a mobile version of another enormously popular TV gameshow, Countdown.
