dtp entertainment AG press release for January 05, 2007

ANACONDA, Internationalization, Fund: dtp entertainment looks back on successful 2006

Hamburg, Germany: January 05, 2007 - A successful year 2006 for Hamburg-based dtp entertainment AG, Germany's second-largest independent publisher for computer and video games, draws to a close. Shortly before the end of the year, CEO Thomas Baur takes stock:

"Our company is market leader in several areas, Germany's biggest third-party publisher for Nintendo platforms and has established its own games fund - and all of this in one year", summarized Baur the achievements of 2006.

With the ANACONDA label, dtp entertainment is active in the games market: The sign of the serpent stands for "games with character": story-driven games that are distinguished by a strong central character. This includes role-playing games like Drakensang, stealth-action titles such as Sabotage, lifestyle sims like Kiss before Midnight, as well as classic adventure games, as for example the new Jane Jensen title, Gray Matter.

All of these releases are published worldwide by dtp entertainment. The German company is in the middle of a process of internationalization, negotiating with a multitude of potential partners.

dtp entertainment products are already available in 34 countries on five continents. This includes the internationally successful children's games from subsidiary dtp young entertainment which are published under the Horse & Pony and ANIKIDS labels. In the growing market for children's games these products have received international attention, e.g. entering the top 10 PC retail charts in the US.

Tailored specifically for girls aged 6 to 12, these products develop new audiences for the games market, as girls are introduced to the computer gaming medium.

And dtp entertainment has innovated in other areas as well, setting up the 1. dtp Games Fund, which collected EUR 11 million. The fund invests in products to be developed and marketed by dtp entertainment. This includes games for the ANACONDA label, as well as dtp young entertainment products.

As a result, dtp entertainment was able to strengthen its position as the biggest contractor for German developers and on the most significant publishers for European development studios.

"It is important for us to find reliable partners in all European territories, expanding the success of our products together," said Thomas Baur.

In addition, dtp entertainment is strengthening it position as a reliable local publisher and distributor for third party products. Companies like Rising Star, Aspyr, City Interactive and Lightouse Interactive rely on the dtp's team and its German sales force.

All areas of dtp entertainment are forging ahead with a wealth of first-class releases planned for 2007, among them the action-packed stealth shooter Sabotage and the action RPG Legend: Hand of God. And with Gray Matter, dtp entertainment is publishing the first adventure game by the "Gabriel Knight" creator in years. For the Nintendo DS, two adventure games featuring innovative minigames are in the pipeline.

All the best from Hamburg,
