Driverheaven.net conducts one of the most comprehensive Reader's Surveys in the history of enthusiast computing

Huntingdon, UK - Monday, 05 March 2007

For immediate release

In partnership with 'the largest graphics card and processor manufacturer in the world', Driverheaven.net has recently completed one of the most astounding and extensive Reader Surveys on a unique and hard-to-reach audience in the enthusiast computing industry.

Built up over 5 years, Driverheaven.net now boasts 1.4 million niche and targeted visitors per month. Driverheaven.net - up until recent months, has remained a private playground of 'underground' tech and gaming enthusiasts.

Richard Huddy, Worldwide Developer Relations Manager, AMD Graphics Products Group, remarked, "For AMD (NYSE: AMD), the Driver Heaven website is one of the most influential gaming and enthusiast authorities available. Their readers are now widely recognised as 'extremely hardcore', very opinionated, experts in their field and the very earliest adopters!"

The survey was completed by a staggering 5,500 of Driver Heaven's audience. Huddy continued, "The basis of the survey was to better identify the overall behaviour patterns of Driver Heaven's core audience, and importantly, their influence over the rest of the gaming and enthusiast market. Although up against a notoriously hard-to-reach demographic, we managed to undertake one of the most comprehensive reader surveys of the gaming and enthusiast's industry to date".

The survey produced some bewildering results, confirming many speculations existing in the market. Richard Yu, Head of Advertising Sales, Driver Heaven commented, "It has never been made so clear that Driver Heaven attracts a hard-to-reach audience, 90% of readers watch less than 12 hours of TV per week, 75% rarely read a newspaper, 61% rarely listen to the radio and 64% rarely purchase computer magazines".

"The niche readership consists of the type of people who will spend an average 28 hours playing games per week, £1000 on hardware over the next 12 months and will buy over 20 games in a year" he added, "And what's more, these guys are influential. 67% work in IT related jobs, 37% in senior management and 44% earning over £30k per annum."

James Reed, Managing Director, Driver Heaven concluded, "It's fantastic to be involved with such an eye opening piece of research into what was virtually an untapped audience. Driver Heaven was established back in May 2002 as a site dedicated to gaming and tech enthusiasts, a community that are not easy to please. Therefore we have made every effort to introduce marketing campaigns in a way that involves our audience rather than typical in-your-face advertising".
