Double digit sales growth for Koch

Company plans 1 million F1 titles for Europe on day-one

German publisher and distributor Koch Media has seen double digit sales growth for the first half of 2010, and is positive of a strong second half as it prepares to shift one million units of Codemasters' new F1 game on release day.

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz Germany, CEO Dr Klemens Kundratitz said the company will blitz retail on release, after picking up the rights to distribute the game in Germany, Italy, France and Benelux.

"The biggest title for the Christmas season we have is F1 2010 from Codemasters, which will be a huge hit," he said. "F1 2010 is definitely the biggest title in the company's history in terms of sell-in. We plan with a day one delivery between 500,000 and one million units."

First half growth has come from a successful deal with Square Enix to distribute Final Fantasy XIII, Just Cause 2 and Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days in Europe, with Koch now the number one distributor across Europe.
