DOFUS 2.0

New content coming next year as simultaneous players hit 200,000.

Roubaix, France – December 17, 2009 --ANKAMA announces the wildly successful results of the recent DOFUS 2.0 launch, as the popular Flash MMORPG generated more than one million unique connections per day only a week after its official launch. Further supporting the success, DOFUS 2.0 has gathered over 200,000 players connected at the same time.

“We are thrilled to see how players have embraced DOFUS as it further reinforces our belief that this game continues to provide quality entertainment and an amazing experience,” said Cedric Gerard, International Marketing Manager at ANKAMA. “The launch of DOFUS 2.0 has been something we’ve greatly anticipated so we thank all our players for their ongoing support, and we humbly welcome new players to DOFUS.”

One of the top five online games in the world with a base of 25 million players, the new update – DOFUS 2.0 -- was officially released worldwide on December 2. DOFUS 2.0 engages players via the all-new additions including eye-popping manga-inspired visuals and performance upgrades. The game is supported by a new graphic engine based on ActionScript 3 and the latest Adobe Air technology, and the server and client code have been completely rewritten to offer a wealth of detail and an unparalleled gaming experience. DOFUS 2.0 features a free to play section, along with a varied subscription model which allows gamers the flexibility to play as they like.

ANKAMA continues its steady dedication of providing new and fun content as the company confirms it is in the process of developing ‘Frigost, the ice continent’, the next content update for DOFUS 2.0, due to be released in 2010.

Currently, DOFUS 2.0 will only support new characters. Character migration from DOFUS to DOFUS 2.0 will be implemented shortly. ANKAMA will make future announcements on DOFUS 2.0 development updates.
