DemonWare signed up for Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast

Dublin-based network middleware experts DemonWare have been selected by SEGA to provide the network multiplayer features for the PS2, PSP and PC versions of forthcoming racing title Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast.

The firm is working with British developer Sumo Digital to integrate matchmaking and leader board systems into the game, which will be launched in March on the above named platforms as well as on Xbox.

"By working with DemonWare, we've ensured that the online play on both PS2 and PSP lives up to the standard players expect from a SEGA product," according to SEGA Europe senior producer Ben Gunstone, who seems delighted with DemonWare's tech - describing the integration process as "seamless" and the firm's support as "lightning fast and efficient."

"We're delighted to be working with SEGA on a title that is both a fantastic game and a huge favourite with the rest of the DemonWare team," commented DemonWare's CEO, Dylan Collins. "We're very pleased that our technology has allowed Sumo Digital and Sega to develop such a unique multiplayer gaming experience across several platforms."
