Datel has launched a new 4GB hard drive add-on for Sony's PlayStation Portable in a bundle which retails for GBP 149 in the UK and USD 199 in the States.

According to Datel, the hard drive will allow users to store four full-length films and more than 1000 songs, plus thousands of digital photos and game saves.

It will come bundled with an X2 rechargeable battery, said to last twice as long as the standard PSP battery, a USB cable and a software suite for transferring files between the handheld and PC.

"Our 4GB Hard Drive is the ideal device for PSP data storage," said Datel's Michael Connors.

"With movies, images and music to store as well as game saves, memory cards no longer cut it. You need a bigger solution, and that's exactly what we're offering."

The Datel 4GB Hard Drive is available now.
