Data Design Interactive opens new studio

Data Design Interactive has announced that they have opened a new studio for their Wii label Popcorn Arcade

Data Design Interactive has announced that they have opened a new studio for their Wii label Popcorn Arcade.

âWith the incredible success of the Nintendo Wiiâs casual gaming market, we want our Popcorn Arcade brand to be the must-have purchase for the casual gamer,â said Stewart Green, MD of Data Design Interactive.

âWe have 14 titles that we want to ship this year, four of which already have gold master status and another three have been submitted to Nintendo for final approval," Green said.

"To keep up with this staggering momentum, we have set up a new development studio, where a brand new team can immediately start working on existing titles and start developing our planned 30 future titles over the next 12 months.â

Towards that end, Data Design has hired Gerard Mulcahy, Lee Parke and Samuel Hanke as junior programmers, while David Wolsey and Marc Geahchan have joined the art department.

The new studio will be headed up by Robert Dorney, who has been with the company for nine years.
