D3Publisher of Europe Ltd. announces the imminent release of PQ: Practical Intelligence Quotient for the Sony PSP™.

Cambridge, UK. February 17, 2004 - D3Publisher of Europe Ltd. (D3PE) a publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software, today announced the imminent release of its first title for the Sony PSPTM (PlayStation®Portable) system, PQ: Practical Intelligence Quotient - a three dimensional puzzle game that tests players' problem solving skills.

"Our first title for the PSPTM system had to be one that would not only take advantage of the platform, but also give gamers an enjoyable gaming experience." commented David Hope, Managing Director for D3PE. "PQ is perfect for the PSPTM system as it offers pick-up-and-play gaming without a significant time commitment. Our plan is to bring high quality, innovative titles to the PSPTM system to establish a name for D3PE among both retailers and consumers."

Players can challenge 100 3D logic puzzles by moving blocks, avoiding walls and lasers, pulling switches and maneuvering with maps to reach their goal and solve the puzzle. As players solve the puzzle within a shorter time frame and with fewer moves, their PQ scores improve. Players can then post their PQ score online using the PSPTM system's Infrastructure Mode to see how their performance rates against other players globally.

Developed by Nowproduction, Inc. of Osaka, Japan for D3PE, PQ: Practical Intelligence Quotient uses a measuring system that was created under the guidance of Professor Masuo Koyasu of Kyoto University in Japan that determines players 'Practical Intelligence Quotient' or PQ.

PQ for PSPTM (PlayStation®Portable) features:

  • 100 3D logic puzzles moving blocks and stairs, avoiding walls and lasers, pulling switches and maneuvering with maps.
  • 13 puzzle types use various obstacles and methods to test a player's problem-solving abilities.
  • Scores are based on not only solving the puzzle, but also take into account how fast and how many moves are used.
  • Players can then post their PQ score using the PSP system's Infrastructure Mode to receive a worldwide ranking and compare their score with other players.

PQ: Practical Intelligence Quotient will be released in April 2006 for the Sony PSPTM (PlayStation®Portable) system with a MRRP of £24.99.
