CVG Presents

Computer & Video Games returns to the newsstand in bimonthly helpings, starting with a guide to Grand Theft Auto.

03/04/08 - Future, the UK's leading publisher of video games media, is delighted to announce the return of the Computer & Video Games (CVG) brand to newsstands after a four-year absence.

Reborn as a bi-monthly magazine dedicated to the biggest events in gaming, the first issue of CVG Presents goes on sale Wednesday, 16th April and marks an exciting new dawn for the UK's longest-established games media brand.

The first issue of CVG Magazine went on sale in 1981 and was published monthly until December 2004, when it went online only as www.cvg.co.uk. The website is now an unmissable part of Future's GamesRadar web network ( www.gamesradar.com), which attracts more than 6.3m unique users a month. The spirit of CVG has always lived on through the website, breaking the biggest games news stories first, as well as offering its own irreverent insight on just about everything else in the industry.

The launch of CVG Presents enables Future to document and celebrate the most important gaming events in unrivalled detailed. With coffee-table sensibilities, each issue of CVG Presents promises to be stylish and collectable, with art direction from the award-winning Terry Stokes, formerly Art Editor of Edge.

Edited by games magazine veteran Steve Williams, the first issue of CVG Presents focuses on the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) universe. Delivering a comprehensive 180-page guide, it catalogues Rockstar's acclaimed series from the first game in 1997, right through to the forthcoming GTAIV. With a mixture of newly commissioned editorial alongside reviews and interviews from the Future archive, CVG Presents offers the complete history of GTA, capped off with 30 sumptuous pages dedicated to the truly mind blowing GTAIV.

James Binns is Publishing Director of Future's games portfolio:

"I bought issue one of CVG in 1981 and I'm delighted that Future is bringing the brand back to the newsstand. We will be promoting CVG Presents in-store, online and across the rest of our growing games portfolio. Gamers are going absolutely nuts for the release of GTAIV, and the timing of this launch couldn't be better."

The first issue of GTA Presents goes on sale Wednesday, 16th April, with a cover price of £5.
