Creditors win winding-up order against Digital Jesters

The latest twist in the ongoing story of UK publisher Digital Jesters, which was accused late last year by several developers of breach of contract and failure to pay monies due to them, has come in the form of a winding-up order for the firm from the High Court.

The order was won by a group of developers in the UK high court, and the firm's creditors now intend to pursue additional legal action against Digital Jesters' directors, Terry Malham and Leo Zullo.

"Administrators will shortly be appointed to investigate the transactions of Digital Jesters, their investors and associated ventures such as 'Myriad Interactive' of Mr Marco Landi, with the aim of recovering outstanding debts," according to a statement today from the group.

Myriad Interactive is the US firm which in November announced its intention to invest $5 million in The DJ Group, a new company which would be taking over the name of Digital Jesters and hiring some of its senior staff - including both Malham and Zullo.

However, The DJ Group did not take over the company as a whole and a spokesperson for the group told GamesIndustry.biz at the tie that all outstanding claims would have to be resolved with Digital Jesters.

Digital Jesters representatives today refused to comment on the issuing of the winding-up order.
