Corsair SSD Challenge

60GB solid-state drives to be won in Call of Duty 4 tournament.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

28th May 2010 (Huntingdon, UK) – Heaven Media are pleased to announce a new partnership between esports tournament organiser Esports Heaven and Corsair, a worldwide supplier of high-performance computer components for gamers and enthusiasts.

The Corsair SSD Challenge for Call of Duty 4 will involve a whopping 128 teams, each comprised of 5 players, and will take place over two weeks, starting Monday May 24th. After more than 1,000 hours of intense, competitive gaming, the winning team will be crowned.

The five players in the winning team will each walk away with a 60GB Corsair Reactor Series solid-state drive, worth £150 each. With a maximum read speed of 250MB/s and near-instant data access times, Reactor Series SSDs are perfect for gamers who want to gain a competitive edge, thanks to faster game loading times and snappier system responsiveness.

“Corsair products are absolutely ideal for gaming enthusiasts, because they are always designed with high-performance in mind,” said Steven Leunens, Esports Heaven product manager for Heaven Media. “We’re very pleased that Corsair is supporting Esports Heaven with the Corsair SSD Challenge, and we’re sure it will be a superb tournament.”

“Corsair is committed to producing some of the very best products for gamers, and we’re proud to sponsor this tournament and support the gaming community,” said Paul Watkins, Snr. Director of Marketing, Europe, for Corsair. “We’re looking forward to a great competition between some fantastic teams. And with Reactor Series SSDs up for grabs, the winning team will be able to upgrade their PCs and become even more competitive!”

In addition to their rapid performance, Corsair Reactor Series SSDs feature 128MB of cache, for stutter-free responsiveness, and fully support the TRIM command in Windows 7, to maintain optimal performance. Reactor Series SSDs also utilize less power than conventional hard disk drives, and use no moving parts, providing significantly higher reliability and durability compared to mechanical drives.

The Corsair SSD Challenge will be covered by Cadred.org and TEK-9.org, two of Europe’s most influential esports coverage sites.
