Following the critical and commercial success of the console editions of DiRT 2 , the PC edition of DiRT 2 delivers the definitive off-road experience for PC gamers. DiRT 2 for Games for Windows LIVE is rated T for Teen and is available for $39.99.
Codemasters® takes advantage of DirectX 11 features to add to the realism of the racing environment. Hardware tessellation further improves the appearance of water and other surfaces as well as crowd animations. The performance of Shader Model 5.0 aids in creating an even richer 3D experience, enhancing key image quality parameters such as depth of field, ambient occlusion and shadows. These DirectX 11 features have produced the most exciting and visceral racing experience yet.
DiRT 2 takes players on a World Tour where gamers compete in more than 100 breathtaking events, including aggressive, multi-vehicle races and intense solo challenges set in an array of real-world environments. From the muddy tracks of the Malaysian rainforest to spectator-packed stadiums in London and Los Angeles, racers compete in a variety of contemporary off-road racing styles that include Rallycross, Trailblazer, Raid, Landrush and Rally.
Rally racing’s finest, including Travis Pastrana, Dave Mirra, Ken Block and Tanner Faust, help players climb the ladder from rookies to off-road racing superstars. Further immersing players into the life of an off-road star, DiRT 2 ’s garage is home to a premiere collection of officially licensed rally cars and off-road vehicles including the Mitsubishi EVO X, the Subaru Impreza STI, the Colin McRae R4 and many others.
