Despite some tough competition, a team from Codemasters came out on top last Friday to become the winners of the G3 charity shooting tournament.

The inaugural G3 - which stands for guns, games and giving - took place at Gosterwood Manor in Surrey. It was organised by Joel Benton, Kuju's business development manager, and raised more than GBP 7000 for the Entertainment Software Charity.

Each team fired a total of 300 shots across ten clay pidgeon shooting stands. Codemasters took the trophy with a score of 188, while Rebellion's 184 hits earned them second place. Climax came in third with 169.

The best individual shooter of the day was THQ's Dave Turner, who scored 46 hits out of 60 shots. Bryan Black scored 44, while Tracy Walsey was just beaten into third place with 43.

The morning tournament was followed by a team flush, where each team's members fired at targets simultaneously. The event was won by THQ, with the GamesIndustry.biz team in second and Climax in third.

"The event was a fantastic success. Everyone had a great time socialising and enjoying both the day's activities and the location," said Benton.

"Many thanks to everyone who supported what I hope will be the first of many G3 shooting events in years to come."
