Codemasters Online Gaming prepares for MMO debut

Following the recent extension to its licensing agreement with South Korean publisher CCR, Codemasters Online Gaming has announced the availability of pre-order packs for its highly anticipated MMO title, RF Online.

Following the recent extension to its licensing agreement with South Korean publisher CCR, Codemasters Online Gaming has announced the availability of pre-order packs for its first MMOG title, RF Online.

The game, which features a blend of traditional RPG fantasy and science fiction, has already attracted in excess of one million players since its debut in The East last year, and was originally only scheduled for release in the US. Due to demand from the gaming community - without any promotional activity from Codemasters - the company extended its licensing agreement to include mainland Europe.

The exclusive pre-order packs, available both online and in UK stores, includes a selection of faction-specific stickers, three faction postcards, a soundtrack CD, and, arguably more importantly, guaranteed access to the RF Online Beta, which is due to go live shortly.

"Seeing the RF Online pre-order packs hit retail is an amazing sight and something we've been looking forward to," commented David Solari, Codemasters Online Gaming director. "We're excited to see the impact these packs have on the beta test and hope that everyone who purchases them will exercise their exclusive right to enter the beta".

RF Online is expected to be released in February, and will be published and operated in the US and Europe by Codemasters Online Gaming. The next-genration MMO title will mark Codemasters Online Gaming's first real entrance into the genre, the company having previously cancelled the release of its own Dragon Empires title, which had apparently been in development for several years.
