Cobra Mobile Releases Mind Games

For Immediate Release:

Dundee, April 25th 2007. Cobra Mobile today unveiled Mind Games, its latest title for mobile phones.

Mind Games is a metal fitness test, which enables players to improve their brain's agility and condition through a series of challenges and mini games. If played regularly, Mind Games can help players to improve their mental agility and increase their mind's overall 'fitness'.

A rebranded version of Mind Games was recently published by mobile media company Player X and Sky Television. Released as Carol Vorderman's Mind Aerobics, the game has received a major marketing push from both companies. It is currently in the Top Ten mobile games charts of several mobile network operators in the UK.

Mark Ettle, the managing director of Cobra Mobile, commented, "We are pleased to be bringing Mind Games to the mobile gaming audience. The branded version of the game is doing exceptionally well in the UK and the reviews are very positive. Releasing the original version of the game will allow mobile phone users all over the world to join in and enjoy the hugely popular brain training phenomenon."

Tony Pearce, the chief executive officer of Player X, the publisher of both Mind Games and Carol Vorderman's Mind Aerobics, commented, "Working with Cobra was a very positive experience for both companies. Cobra's expertise ensured that both Mind Games and Carol Vorderman's Mind Aerobics were released on schedule, on budget and supporting all of the most popular handsets on the market."

To date, Cobra Mobile has maintained a fairly low profile mobile studios, despite being the company behind many best-selling titles including Sensible Soccer Skillz and Lego Bricks - both of which are still selling to a global audience. The company has deliberately avoided any publicity, preferring to concentrate on building both it's games portfolio and advanced technology.

"The mobile games market offers many challenges for developers," says Ettle. "Creating fun games which work on the huge range of phones on the market, constantly advancing technologies such as 3D and online or connected gaming and translating major brands onto limited devices like mobile phones, all make mobile a difficult market to work in successfully."

Over the last two years, Cobra has focused on creating tools and technologies which enable the company to create games very quickly, transport them to all available handsets and take advantage of new technologies such as 3D graphics.

"We can go from an initial design concept through to a working prototype, then a finished product in around four weeks," says Ettle. "This gives us a huge advantage in trying new concepts and creating new styles of game. It also ensures that when we work with partners, we can very quickly show them something feature-complete, working on a wide range of handsets. We also provide complete support for the new mobile phones with 3D graphics and can create content for them almost as quickly."

This technical capability, combined with the company's experience within the mainstream games industry - the founder previously worked with several game developers in Scotland - gives Cobra a unique edge within the competitive mobile gaming market.

The final word goes to Peter Mackintosh, Cobra's chairman, "Cobra offers publishers, networks, brand owners and mobile gamers something special," he says. "We understand the mobile gaming market, we understand the value of brands and of incorporating them into fun and compelling games. Our technology gives us a fast, reliable way to take a concept and turn it into a completed product which can incorporate all of the features the market is likely to see over the next several years."

Cobra was established in 2005. The company's board of directors consists of - Managing Director - Mark Ettle, Company Chairman - Peter Mackintosh, Company Secretary - John McGinley and Director - Michael Mackintosh.
