Climax launches new high-tech audio department

British development group Climax has announced that it's to set up a brand new audio department at its Brighton office, providing high-quality audio for all of the company's games.

The new division will be headed up by Steve Rockett, formerly of Rockett Music, who has a long track record of producing music for videogames - including the creation of all the audio for every game produced by sadly deceased handheld specialist studio Crawfish over the past four years.

"Climax is setting up an audio department to add more dimension to its games," explains Rockett. "Better audio content in the games will add a new level to context sensitive environments, placing gamers deeper inside the game world. We will also be working with Dolby and the 5.1 surround sound system, which should become commonplace in the years ahead."
